And so we agree on the "big" things....

....does it matter that Mr. Bill and I are as different as different can be?
  • He can't sleep in.  I could sleep until noon daily if given the chance
  • He makes the bed everyday.  I could care less....who sees it?
  • He could eat fish and chicken every dinner.  I want Taco Bell or a Big Mac
  • He thinks dinner time is 5pm.  I think dinner is when I feel like eating
  • He loves antiques and Queen Anne.  I'd be happy with modern black and white everything
  • He is Beatles and Yes.  I am Bon Jovi and Styx
  • He loves big family gatherings.  I love being alone
  • He is health conscious.  I am couch conscious
I took one of those Playbuzz quizzes recently "which two foods are your and your partner?"  The results:  You go together like Broccoli & Cheetos! You and your partner make a particularly eccentric couple. Even the two of you didn't envision you would be with each other and your loved ones are just dumbfounded. But your love is just as strong as expected relationships. Being together has opened new doors and you are both loving the adventure.

I figured out early on that our differences are what make us work.  Setting those differences aside, we have always agreed on the "big" (important) things.

  • We wanted children - whatever God blessed us with
  • We would raise our children differently than we were raised and ignore opinions from our families
  • We agree on religion - his church was fine by me
  • We agree on politics - he keeps current and is "in the know" but I could care less either way
  • We agree on people - we usually like and dislike the same way
In terms of arguments, don't get me started on money, budgeting, spending, or anything financial.  We agree one day and disagree the next.  And putting up a Christmas tree together went out of fashion years ago.  If we have to do it again, someone won't live to tell about it.
