I know now that my approach was all wrong - resolutions need to have purpose. I need to liken them to "SMART" goals - (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, time-bound). I realize this won't be an easy process, but I have all year right? My plan is to identify the resolution, summarize the goals for each and then provide updates as to my progress. I expect that I won't start making immediate progress....it may take a week or so to outline the goals and a plan of attack. I'm OK with that.
Let's start with the list. To be clear, these are in no particular order:
- Write more
- Learn more about my job
- Learn something new
- Work somewhere new
- Take a vacation
- Spend more time with friends
- Be good to myself
- Be good to others
- Spend less
- Save more
- Be a better wife
- Be a better mother
- Spend more time with family
- Organize and simplify what I can control
Next step - summarize the goals and identify next steps. Stay tuned.....
